what is a remote application?
An application is a program, like MYOB or Microsoft Word. A remote application is a program you use at your computer which is located on another computer or server. asp run your applications from the servers at our privately owned-and-operated aspcentre, and give you access wherever you have an internet connection.
what applications or programs can be hosted?
Most applications/programs can be hosted by asp but all programs that are installed into the aspcentre must be legally obtained and licensed software. asp fully test each application before installing in the aspcentre to ensure that it will operate effectively and have no adverse affects on the servers or other clients.

what happens if my internet drops out?
asponline can't work if you're not online, so your internet connection is extremely important. Sometimes your connection can break due to factors out of anybody's control, and only your Internet Service Provider can bring it back, though it can take some time. As a back up to your land line internet connection, asp recommend keeping a mobile broadband service for these kinds of situations, as they can be plugged in at a moments notice, and get at least one computer connected and working. You can also use a smartphone such as an iPhone, BlackBerry or Android phone connected to your computer to give you access via your mobile data plan in an emergency.
asp recommend testing these backup connections regularly, to ensure that you know how to use them when you need them.
what are the costs?
The full range of prices and options are contained in the asponline agreement form. Set up for each user is $105.30 including GST, and ongoing access is $49.95 inc GST per user per month, and gives you unlimited 24/7 access to your data and programs.
how do I access asp?
From a Windows or Mac computer, you have a desktop icon to use, which will prompt you for your username and password, and once the servers authenticate your details, you can start working.
iPhones, iPads and Android devices can access via any remote desktop app once all the appropriate settings are made, and asp will supply everything you need to know.
what are the system requirements?
The software you need to access asp is already installed on Windows XP, Vista and 7, and is available free for Mac from Microsoft. asp recommend applying the Remote Desktop Client 7.0 update for Windows XP, and Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows XP and Vista, as these updates will facilitate greater printer compatibility. A separate security patch will be provided for computers using Windows XP to enable secure connection to the aspcentre. Windows 7 does not require any updates for using asponline.
For access from iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets, we recommend PocketCloud by Wyse Technology, which has both a free and Pro version. Either are suitable for the needs of most customers.
